Ikkyujuku is a new style of private accommodation.

Set in a quiet neighborhood near Lake Kasumigaura, 

the guesthouse is a simple and traditional Japanese home. 

Beside it stands “Ikkyu Dojo,” a place where Japanese culture comes to life.

Here, guests can take part in traditional lessons enjoyed by ordinary people since the Edo period, 

such as calligraphy, abacus classes, and reading workshops.

The dojo also offers cultural experiences including chanbara swordplay lessons, 

as well as yukata and kimono dressing and rental services.
